Need help with H7, H4 bulbs

Need help with H7, H4 bulbs
ok i have some questions about H7, H4 bulbs...
are the bulb bases the same? (i know one has 3 and the other has 2 connectors)
how are the positive and negative connectors differ, are the connectors from the H7 and H4 (excluding the High beam connector) the same in the same location.
well to solve my problems can the H4 be switched fot the H7 and just have that extra connector hang.
i hope you guys know what im talking about.....
