i'm planning to shave a 97 gle trunk and put it on my 99 se maxima.
what i need to know is what do you do with that bar that connects the key hole to the locking clip? it just hangs now since i removed the key hole weld it and bondo it shut.

also will it still pop (with the button on the door)when i install it. i don't want to install it and it locks forever without poping open. thanks

If all you did was remove the cylinder and cover over the hole, then yes, the trunk open actuator will still function, both through keyless (if you have it) and the button on the door.
