The May 27, 2001 Sunday "The Augusta Chronicle" "Your Life" section:

Auto Tip: In the area's humid climate, you may want to change your car's air filter more frequently than if you lived in a less humid area. In moist areas mold may grow in the air filter fibers and worsen the air quality in the passenger compartment.

Does this mean that a serious condition could result if your your engine has allergies? Could this lead to leaky valves? Could this lead to a clogged catalytic converter? :>>

They mean your A/C/Heating/Venting system air filter. Not your engine air filter.
