Does anyone know if the headlights from the 97-99s will definitely fit on a 96? I'm thinking about doing the change but i want to make sure before i buy anything.

the lights on a 95-96 look more straight not as slanted, but it might just be the grill.. they might, im not sure.

I have read on here that there have been people to do it. as long as you only change the lights, they fit. Change the grill or bumper, it's a pain. But the lights are drop in.

The 97+ lights fit onto a 96. Several people have done the conversion. The only person I can think of off the top of my head right now is ny96maxse. I think one bolt doesn't line up, but all you have to do is drill a new hole for the bolt. And I think the 96 grill won't really fit well with the 97+ lights.

Yeah the lights will fit perfectly, all the bolts line up fine if the lights are installed correctly. Just so you know I did the conversion on my 95 max.

I have 97-99 style headlights that i bought from EMAX95 a while back. I also bought 97-99 style corner lenses as well. They match the new headlights alot better than the 95-96 corner lenses. Try: www.autodirectsave.com they $30 each for corner lenses and about $120 a headlight brand new!!

As for the fit, you can see they will fit up to the 95-96 corner lenses or obviously the 97-99 style corner lenses. I tried fitting the stock 95-96 grill with the newer headlights and it fit fine, but now i have the SMX grille. The only thing i had to do was drill out two of the holes for the headlight brackets cause they didnt line up perfectly. Also i compared my old 96 headlights to the 99 ones i got, dimension wise hey are the same, the only difference is, is that the 99's are more pointed at the corners.
