Radiator Shroud

So since I have a new job that gives me more down time, I have been finishing up some projects on the maxima and have been working on a couple of new ones. On my spercharger setup, I have a heat exchanger for my air-water system that mounts to the lower radiator support. More airflow to that will cause lower intake air temps. Also, since Slammmed95 or whatever doesn't sell the CF radiator shrouds anymore, I am interested in making my own.

Since I have no experience with fiberglass, I do not feel comfortable making a shroud out of it. My thought was to use steel, but I do not know what gauge I should use. Does anyone ahve an idea. I also was thinking of how I would gut it. I know that some steel is hard to cut with wire cutters and the like and was looking for suggestions with that as well. I do have a dremel, but I am not adverse to picking up some new tools.

If this seems easy enough I was thinking that I could make some extra ones for H&D Customs (Chicago Area Maxima Customizers).

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks
Steve

Top Element never stopped selling the carbon fiber radiator shrouds. If you want a nice one, just email Andy at sales@t etuning.com <-- no spaces.

yes there are. you can use this as a dress up, but I want it for its cooling.

I may get the cf, but I want to try to make one myself too.

Possibly interested. I also hear Redlinemax is coming out with aluminum radiator shrouds in a few weeks.
