Hurricane Rita

my best wishes go out to all my fellow south florida orgers. i hope no one gets flooded out of their homes or maximas for that matter. if u live here in miami u know what i mean after hurricane katrina "brushed" us.

i pray to god that this thing does not go north like some say it will and re-visit new orleans and mississippi.

be safe

tony

at this point, nobody knows what'll happen...it will intensify going across the gulf, but i'm just hoping it turns further south toward mexico/texas....if it hits us again (LA) it will most likely be with the eastern side of the wall, which is the strongest part of the hurricane...and that would about suck....lol

yup.. headed to wal mart today for a box of .22 and some 12 gauge rounds as well.
I may not be a very good shot, but with a 12 gauge full of buckshot, I don't have to be.

Piece of advice: looters, stay the f*** away from my 'hood.

Be safe all, Rita is a Class 5, Katrina was a class 4. Shes aimed for Texas. Please evacuate if need.

I hope it doesnt do much damage at all, I'm going to fill up some canteens of gas, because news is saying gas will shoot higher than when katrina hit.

God bless.

except you are in Cali, so an earthquake will probably shake down whatever tall parking structure you think your car was safe in

On a serious note -- you guys in the wake of that mess be careful. I hope you have a few days worth of food and water and a radio with batteries. My mom is from Florida and I know a little about being prepared for emergencies. May God have mercy on you if you stay.

Yeah, I loaded up the car with my stereo, business computer, file cabinet, and the major valuable stuff for us and we GTFO. took us 22 hours of sitting in the car to drive from South side of houston to my parents house in OK. it's usually a 7 hour drive. after 13 hours of sitting in traffic on I-45 and moving a total of about 65 miles, I gave up on our govetnment's plan to crap 2 milllion cars through a 1 lane construction zone on I-45.. We hit the surface streets and back roads and took a windy 2-lane scenic route and got here ~10 hours later.

I've heard the highway and such are just packed. If your area is next to empty that maybe a sign chillin that something is to come by to visit.

yesterday the highway next to my house was like nothing i've ever seen in my life. i thought it would stay crowded throughout the night but something happened and it cleared up. i think people realized they didnt have enough gas or time to get out and turned around. at least thats waht a couple of my friends did.
im prepped man, dont worry about me.
the ghost town part of all this is creepy but exciting to me at the same time.
i and scurd

Thats crazy chillin014!!! I just read on MSN that Rita was heading for Houston and the first thing I remembered is that you live there....stay safe and hopefully the storm will pass by with minimal damage. Get the Maxima in shelter too! I hope your house is built really strong. I'll be praying for everyone's safety.

man, traffic is a b****. We left for Austin yesterday when they opened up the contraflow lanes. I took my laptop and with the help of Streets & Trips 2005 was able to navigate through a bunch of back roads and avoid about 6 hours of traffic. We got to Austin in under 6 hours yesterday and we left at like 4pm and used less than a half tank of gas....thank god for my laptop or I would probably still be sitting in that damn traffic. I left my max at my apt so hopefully it will still be there when I come back.

thanks for the concern northern, and mdeezy. so the hurricane came and uh, nevermind no it didnt it actually basically completely missed us. well at least my area. nothing happened. now i gotta go take all the boards off. wanted ot work on my car so bad with all this free time too.
i parked it between 2 houses to avoid debri and a tree near my driveway from falling on it. apparently the cops drove by and were about to tow it when a neighbor talked them out of it.
i cant believe they didnt have anything better to do than try to tow my car which i was obviously just hiding from the weather. im gonna go get it and bring her back home!
