car alarm
alrite i have two questions.....this is a factory 97' se alarm....okay here is the sotyr.....in my town there has been 7 people that all go to my school that have all gotten their systems stolen...and it cant be coinsidence because all those cars didnt have alarms on them...ive seen some cars that were broken into and they like shoved a screw driver underneathe the door handle and i guese popped the lock out....so my questions are what all has to be done for the alarm to be triggered to go off on our cars....i know if you open the door it will go off...but what about if someone breaks your window or tries to shove a screw driver underneathe your door handle?...next question is does anyone have any experiece with any bad a$$ alarms, ones that you have a remote too and it like senses when something touches your car and alerts you? thanks guys

If a thief wants your stuff, he's gonna get it. No alarm is going to stop that from happening.
If your worried about your "system", put the stock "system" back in the car and stop worrying.

Alarms for the most part are pointless. The only thing that can help is the pager alarms. Even then you have to get to your car quickly and figure out what your going to do with the people ripping your stuff out of it. I follow a few rules. Never play your music loud in your neighborhood. Always turn it down a few miles before you get to your final stop. The less you do to draw attention to your car the better. Make sure you take your faceplate off everytime you park it. If the thief isnt 100% sure you have a system or something of value he probably isnt going to risk it and break into your car. He will move onto to something he knows is a sure thing.
It Happened to me last winter....thief broke the driver door window, and unlocked from the inside....since my door switch was rusted, the alarm didnt go off
so, jvc arsenal radio stolen, and, of all things, my hammer, and my snow broom....a cheap one worth 1$
i had to replace the window and the plastic covering the radio and the electronic climate controls
my gaz tank door was open so i presume he wanted what was in the trunk...
Lucky me, he didn't find the switch under the armrest in the door
i had about 1500$ of audio material in the trunk at that time
Now, i've put the stock radio in place of the cup holder, and another aftermarket on on top....and when i remove the faceplate, you see nissan written in it stead

Best thing you can do is carry insurance and include everything you add to the policy. I've know guys with the best alarms, 3+ wheel locks; theives stole everything including the alarms.
