Jumping a motorcycle battery
#1
Awhile ago, while I was at work, my friend drove his freshly repaired motorcycle to work. At the end of the night while we were about to go home, he came to me and asked me for a jump. I was like "are you sure that I can jump a motorcycle battery with a car's?" He said yeah, so I helped him. It wound up not starting anyway. A few days ago, I was talking to another friend about it. He was like "Are you crazy!! You shouldn't have done that. That can cause problems for your car. Its not the same kind of battery".
So did I damage my car in anyway? If I did, what kind of problems will I be looking at? I've had none so far...

Car 1 Bike NIL
No trouble for the car. Unlikely to be much problem with the bike's electrics unless you ran it for a long time still hooked up. Might cook the regulator.
The bike will likely need a new battery, though.
Possible reasons:
The Jump will have scared / boiled the crap out of it. On average they are something like 14 Amp/hours as compared to what we use (forgotten, but it'll be lots. 80-ish?
Bike batteries do not like being run flat. They rarely come back to life.

Your car is fine. I have jumped started 3 motorcycles, the last time about 3 weeks ago. No problems at all.
