tinting tail lights

im thining of tinting my tail lights just slightly, and i was wondering that best way to do it.i know nite shades is pretty popular, but i've seen it and i looks really ****ty, unless it was just the guy who did it. anyway i was thinking of using window tint for it. is this a stupid idea or impossible or what? my boy does window tinting and he'll give me a mad deal. i havent asked him yet but im trying to decide if i really want to and what % to get

i did mine with a professional paint gun, just get some clear coat and mix a little bit of black paint and spray em, it only cost me $40 and they look great.

you can get an idea from this pic..... they might appear very dark, but in person in the day light they look perfect, not to darkish and not to light.

Kraylon gloss back. $2 at Kmart. Once coat and it lasts for ever. Light shines right through....

Yes, I do not take credit for this idea. All credit goes to Audtatious.

Didn't you already do the DTM mod? If you use Nightshades and you don't like it, the paint can always be removed (if you don't cover it with a clear coat).

yeah i have DTM tails and i think a light shade of tint will make it look that much better. even though pantyhose are cheap i dont think im tryin it. i just dont think i could see myself have any dignity after i tell ppl i tinted my tails with pantyhose. anyway, i might try some nite shades, but i think i'll try some window tint first. i'll post up as soon as i get them done and let you know how it turns out

95bkackmax18s that does look sexy maybe i will try that if all else fails

No, dammit! I got a run in my pantyhose and need to replace them.

I'll take pix and post at some point. Maybe Control-Top hose will work better..

damn that lamin-x stuff looks good but the bulk sheets are too damn much. it would cost me like $120 to tint my tail lights. i was lookin at doin 2 sets of the 12x16 to make sure i have plenty to cover, i might get away with the 8x16 for like $80 but thats still a lot

and ive seen car that claim they have window tint on their headlights so it must stick. why wouldnt it?

With my 2k3 tails, it made the amber part to the tails appear red.

that doesn't work for the 5th gen tails. i think it's glued up instead of a sealant like our headlights.
