As a traditional Maxima fan, I figure that I have two viable alternatives under Nissan's roof when it comes to the 4DSC: G35S/X or Altima 3.5SE/SL/SE-R.

Be it cost (M45/Q45), utility (Sentra/Versa) or dubious styling (Maxima), the rest of their sedan lineup is a non-consideration for me.

No other Japanese-brand car had this combination at the time!
Going with what ewuzh said, we should all just move on to what fits our needs. If you still want these things above and the maxima doesn't carry them any longer, it's time to move on and find something that does.

Your explanation sounds a lot like Marriage... ie: More junk in the trunk, Triple D's, hotter running engine, etc...

Well, honestly I love my 4th gen, The thing feels light, handles like no other car in its price range (given its price range is like 1-4 thousand now) Every time my back seat is used, people compliment me on how much room they have, Friends say my car is "tight as hell" and its stock save for a y-pipe, Costs next to nothing to insure, Gets better gas mileage than 70% of the cars on the road, came in some pretty cool paint colors, is RELIABLE, has a support group of 50,000+, and looks dead sexy. The only reason I ever drive my dad's 6th gen is to save gas in my 4th. I'd take his steering wheel (heated FTW!), rear suspension, engine, and headlights. Other than that I like NOTHING about it. Uncle has a 5th gen, its not bad, simply because its still relatively small, but its not a 4th gen... The fact that you can spend 1/4 of what you would spend on a new car to make a 4th gen an amazing car (read Metal Maxima's uber lux interior, plus Ceasar's uber hawt exterior, plus MardiGrasMax's engine feats) And there is NOTHING more you could ask for. We all bought maxima's, I think its time we sit down and remember why we did it. /endrant
