2007 Nissan Teana!?

I hope this isn't a repost.....

I was on my lunch break today, and this odd looking car parked next to me... I took a closer look and there were no badges, or logos on it but it looked like a Nissan. I looked inside and it looked very similar to the 05 Altima! I snapped some pictures on my cell phone and I'll try to put them on here soon... the car had Blue Michigan plates that said MFG on the bottom so that leads me to believe that its a spy car a long way from home.

I searched on google, and found this web page:
http://www.thecarconnection.com/Ent...S178.A8969.html

Looks like as of July is was a possibility for the US, but I guess now its definite.

What do you guys think of it? It resembles the body of the Infinity M... just looks a little "cheaper"

|Clark

Here are my shots...sorry so small...

Did you get a chance to look under the car? Some people think this might be the test mule for an AWD Maxima.

I remember not too long ago somebody spotted that same car in a driveway...

I think it looks pretty nice. I believe thats that one that is the current Australian version of the Maxima/Teana in Japan.

I didn't think to look under the car, but it did have cutouts for dual single tip exhaust. I wish I could have waited, but I needed to get back to work.

wow, that is yet another boring, stupid looking car.

I wish the japs would get away from the gay jumbo-sized headlights and taillights...those tails looks like somebody took the 5th gen GXE tails and streched them up and out....

roofline (shocker) looks exactly like the Altima and 6th gen - how about a little creativity, Nissan

the rims look kind of like the Nismo wheels I've seen at the local Nissan dealer....

....if Nissan keeps this "boring styling" crap up, I'll be going european for the next car...

agreed. lets see if we can rattle off the cars that are taking this look and shape: Maxima, Altima, Teana?, Avalon, Camry, GS300, RL, even the Buick Lacerne and Ford Five Hundred are doing this shiat, but the japanese are the worst, WORST offenders. ya know what the best looking, most original cars around are now? the 300C/Magnum/Charger. If cars get any taller and rounder and stupider looking, we are all gonna be driving eggs soon. Im sad to see that even the new S-class is slowly falling victim to this.

Years ago, my mother used to say that all cars looked the same, and I told her she was nuts...now i get it

I'm going to have to go out and say that Audi and BMW are (thankfully) not straying TOO far from their trademark styles and still look pretty darn good. Crap, though, even the new Jetta and Passat are getting the "bubble" look! WTF!!!

Meanwhile, trucks are again getting boxy and angular (Titan, Tundra, though the new XTerra is hideous!)

Don't know that I'd say the 300C is all that original....they just tried their best to make it look like a Rolls/Bentley

about the taller part - it makes me laugh that my wife's Mazda 3s, a nice little sports sedan, is almost 6" TALLER than my full-size maxima!!!

but even BMW is going away from the classic rounded-but-square look and going for idiot angles and weird shaped lights (thanks Chris Bangle ) Audi is still hanging in there, holding their own styling (Lead, never follow still seems to hold true). the germans always had a timeless look. a 1985 S-Class with some AMG wheels STILL looks classy and sleek. that shouldnt change!

and yeah, your right, the 300C is the baby bentley, but is that such a bad thing now? its not like we see Phantoms and Arnages around all the time. for the average $30,000 car, for the average owner, its nice to have something different than rolling biospheres.

6th gen maximas moved a far way from the legacy that the 1-5 gens did. it looks nothing like the maxima. it looks like an altima. that sucks!

i actually like that car, it looks like a mix between a G35, and an altima, and a little but of maxima in there. I would really like Nissan to switch to RWD for the max. I doubt it would take sales away from the G35.

My guess is they imported a Teana, and threw in the interior of an Altima since it was already fabricated for LHD.

And that australian maxima is SO much better looking than ours. Given it isnt sporty, I think it'd make a good addition. BRING BACK THE 4TH GEN!

Where do you see ANY resemblence to a G35 there?! It looks like a diseased 6th gen.

I really like the Teana front and the 6th gen US Maxima rear. That would be the perfect 6th gen in my opinion.

I don't know why, but the rear end sort of reminds me of a Maybach.

I think the rear end of the Teana is a smaller version of the Murano taillights. Loks VERY close to them.

I've never heard of the Teana, but judging from the interior, it looks like a test mule for the next Altima.

[sigh] the teana is not the next maxima. it is the current aussie Maxima. what sense would it make to test a current model to replace a current model
so many act like the 6th gen was such a dramatic change. i keep forgetting the 5th looks just like a 4th gen... I don't even see how/why it would be added as another model, let alone replace one. IF it's over here for testing, it would be for A feature or component to be upgraded, NOT body style.

This car definitely looks like it may be the new Nissan "Flagship" It is slightly larger and if it they give it a similar interior as pictured above, It will give the avalon a run for its money....I actually like it.

When I was in Taiwan 2 months ago, I had a chance to seat in the back of Teana (Taxi) and I LOVE it. It is BIGGER than 5th gen. and the inside is much better than 6th gen. But if Nissan is going make Teana to become 7th gen, please don't mix with Altama's interior.

I have a strong feeling that this car has the Altima interior for testing only. It would not make any sense to but such abuse to the actual interior during testing...This car definitely looked like it was driven half way across the country...it was a mess.

btw, saw a news that they are going to put LED taillight for 2006 Teana in Taiwan. So, I wish Nissan will do the same thing for next gen Maxima.

Hi Mate,

It's specs are plum in the middle between the Altima and the USA Maxima. Output is around the Altima numbers but it only took a little work to get it doing USA Maxima numbers. However, it's weight is like 100kg less then the Altima .. So once I got the mods done with respect to HP output .. she goes like the clappers...

Funny thing a lot of USA maxima parts fit it and then some Altima parts as well.
