If anyone here has had very good results with a particular brand of plastic lens spray paint, please post some info about it (including vendor if possible). I'm looking for a very good red paint for plastic lenses that will give a true OEM look (unlike Plastikote paint). And I don't want to spend an arm and a leg (I saw one brand for sale going at $30 per can), hopefully less than $20. I bought a pair of clear rear taillight units and need to paint the brake light portion red.

Thanks for your help...

I've got an answer! It is called Stained Glass Paint by Krylon. You can get it at Pat Catan's craft store or any other craft store like Michael's. It comes in various colors and it is a translucent paint. It is made primarily for glass, but it will work on plastic. I have a buddy who used it to custom color license plate covers and it worked well. The cost of the paint was $5.00 a can. It is a little smaller than a regular sized spray can.

I used "Testors" plastic enamel model paint with a "gloss kote" over the transparent candy apple red. It's just regular model paint you can pick up at Wal-mart or any craft store.

thanks!

I appreciate your help--a good variety of sources, all reasonably priced. Even worth buying a couple and experimenting with clear plastic. When I'm done, I'll post my recommendations.

Thanks again everyone!
