chilton or haynes? i want to buy one was just wondering which would be better to get?

well, to actually answer the question that was asked, id say that i prefer haynes over chilton.

only had haynes and glad to have had it.

I'd recommend haynes + FSM for additional info.

i got the haynes one and i understand most of the stuff in there, but i am so terrible w/ my hands i don't work on my car, but yeah u can find a haynes one pretty cheap around

I never liked Haynes or Chilton because they lack certain details that you can find in a factory service manual. I am a mechanic by trade so I like the manufacturers manuals to work from when working on new things. The manual that is best for you depends on what kind of work you plan on doing.

haynes is very vauge at times. They cover the majopr parts of a job and tend to leave out the little things.

Agreed, They will give you the main details of a process, but not the tools you need, and other equally important details. Sometimes the pictures are from other generation maximas too, so consider that when buying

Have the Haynes manual that I bought from eBay a few weeks after I got the car. Also downloaded the FSM for more detailed info a year after that

Reading the two manuals and the online info from here is extremely helpful with the things you want to do
