What to do...
What to do...
I think I bought a lemon while avoiding buying another .......
.
So after I picked up this 90 max and had it towed home. After I got it home I didn't have the chance to really tinker with it. I've been going to school then usually directly to work afterwards back to back for about two weeks now. The other day on my day off,I get home early and go through the car for anything I might have missed. Everything comes out ok except for one thing. The shifter wont go all the way to the left. Now I don't know if it could use one hell of a bleeding or what. But I found a thread with a guy who had pretty much the same problem and he's looking at a tranny rebuild(close to it). I just spend 600.00 on this thing and already looking at a tranny rebuild. The car itself has 220K. Quite a few miles but it's low enough for me to drive for like two three months from when I was planning on having the tuneup and stuff done on it (febuary or so because I leave in june for the Navy basic training). Now to be honest I would like to have SOME kind of car to enjoy for that short period of time. I'm gonna need one after basic for A school anyway for atleast another month until I find out where I'm going. Now I have another maxima in storage that needs a motor. This one had a motor but needs a tranny. Should I just put the two side by side and swap out motors or dump them both ? I have done a swap like that similar with me my buddy angel and his neighbor on the neighbors prelude. It took us TWO DAYS and the car was running by 9 o'clock pm the second day. So with some help and a cherry picker I'm more then capable of the swap. I just want to know some idea's of what to do before I passout here.

i mean considering you had to tow the thing home, did you expect it to be a 1337 car or what?

No, I've towed several cars home before in the past and it's not big deal really. They have all turned out to be reall good cars in the long run. The cool thing is that I keep forgetting is that I get paid every two weeks and I make a pretty decent amount working at ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. This just means I have more reasons to use my discount. I'm pulling the tranny out sometime within the week. Then it's a full out tune up and I'mma see if I can find a used aftermarket 240 exhuast.
