I'm going to order a set of Dunlop SP 8000 tires from Discount Tire. I want the 225/50ZR15 tires. I got back an email stating that the tires will fit my stock 15" wheels, but it's too short, will change the speedometer/odometer, and also make the car slower. Is this true? The size I have now on my stock wheels are 215/60R15. Should I go back with this size instead? Thanks.

i would not reccomend you go with that size....
Nothing bad about going wider (225) but going with a shorter sidewall (50) on a 15 inch wheel would suck, i think it would look like **** too, a lot of fender showing, I have 225/50 on my 16" rims and that is still a bit shorter then it should be, it should be 55 for a 16" rim. A 15" rim should be 65, or 60 as it is stock on 95-96.. Stock rim + tire combo is designed in a certain overall diameter which corresponds with the speedometer well, going with a shorter or a taller tire would throw your speedometer off, if you go with a shorter tire, you should get a bigger diameter rim...
I suggest you go for 225/60/15's if anything....
go to the link the dude above posted, it will show u how much exactly these tires will throw your speedo off... I'm not quite sure about the car getting slower tho, I would think it's a bit faster since overall diameter is smaller.....

If you are on a budget and need tires righ now, I've got some 15" tires I'm selling cheap. They are Goodyear 205/65R-15.

whatever you do, do not buy those

Yeah they do suck. They have a lot of sidewall flex; it gives you a comfortable ride, but lousy handling. Wet traction is pretty good.
If Michael's gonna get larger rims soon, it doesn't make a lot of sense to drop $500 for some tires that will be the wrong size. I'm just offering a stop-gap solution at 20% of the cost.
