300zx Calipers w/ 5th gen rotors?

If I used the 26mm rotors from a 5th gen and the 1990 300zx Aluminum 26mm calipers, would I still have to modify the rotors?

I am looking for a decent brake upgrade, I am not 100% that I need the 04 Max rotors or the Cobra rotors. My car is not that fast.

Im going to assume yes if they are 11in or larger. What is there diameter?
There diamater will determine wheter you need a relocation bracket or have to have them milled.

If they are 11 inches then you will have to have them milled down. The rotor will rub the inside of the caliper when its mounted into the Maxima's calipoer location.

I read the Cobra rotors are 26mm, so could I use the 26mm 300zx calipers with them?

but the cobra rotors are tall and you would need to mount the caliper further out

Aren't there caliper relocation brackets available?

If using the Cobra rotors, or the o4 MAxima rotors you will need reloction brackets for the calipers.
Depending on which set up you go with Blehmco or Jeff92se kit will determine which brackets you need.

For the Blehmco kit you will need
z32 Calipers
04 Rotors
relocation brackets
Conversion lines

For Jeff92se kit you will need
z32 calipers
Cobra rotors
relocation brackets
center rings
conversion lines

Forthe Z32 swap you will need
Z32 calipers
Z32 rotors (must be milled down)
conversion lines.

For all the setups you will need to remove the dust shiled, Obtain hardware, and calipers and rotors must be for the same set up, either 26mm or 30mm. These parts are not interchangeable.

No. Because we need an extra mm or two for offset (rotor hat offset vs bracket offset).

IMHO, what REALLY improves the brake's performance is the torque arm effect of the larger rotor (ie.. moving the caliper out). Using more pistons/larger pistons also helps but not as much. But it does seem to help brake fade under continous hard braking.

for the z32 brake upgrade what part of the z32 rotor has to be milled? the actual brake suface of the rotor? and by how much? and for the conversion lines would we just be able to use a z32 brake line or is it custom?

you have to mill down the diameter of the rotor, not the friction surface.

the same would go for 5th gen rotors.. just because they're 26mm thick rotors doesn't mean they bolt right on. you have to worry about offset from the hub, and inner and outer friction surface diameter. thus you would be better off to just use 26mm 300ZX rotors and mill them down 3mm and call it a day if you want to go that way.

As for the brake lines, you have to have custom lines. I have them made by the hundred and can give you a good price on them if you want a pair.
