Car Wash

I think most of the Orgers prefer washing their own rides, but the temp is just too cold right now for doing that kind of thing. After the humogenous 2 feet of snow from last week's blizzard and the grime and salt that had gathered on the car, I need a recommendation as to which car wash in Queens, New York (Flushing, Bayside or Whitestone area) is best. Any comments, bros?

why would you wash the car in the winter? any touchless car wash should be ok a few times but knowing it will be all filthy by the time you drive it home i find it pointless

That is exactly why I prefer a car wash do the washing, just because it is so freaking cold outside!! If the salt and grime is not washed away and allowed to cake on the car, the shine and finish may suffer in the long run.

I know the car may look dirty again a week or two after the wash becauase more snow may fall, but I think it is better for the car, and I hate touching the door handle when it is covered with road and salt grime. In fact, I see many cars line up for car washes after a snow fall, especially when the weather report predicts it will be sunny for a week.

Great, you also live in Arizona where your car probably never has been touched by salt or snow.

That's why I love AZ. No freezing temps to worry about and the only time you'll get into road salt is if you go to Flagstaff!

Wow, you wash your car once a week. That is like $1k a year just for car wash alone.

I only wash mine around 6 times a year. During the summer and fall, I hand wash the car myself. But in the winter and spring, I like to use commercial car washes, but the ones around me (in Queens) are not very good. Most leave swirl marks, which show through on my shiny silver car.

I don't like commerical car washes. Thats why you have to find a hand wash place in the winter months even if you wash it once a month. What can I say, I have to keep my car clean.

Yeah, commercial car wash will probably scretch your paint.
