The 2002 Maxima FACTS (long)

Everyone sitting down holding there collective breath?
These are the facts from the June Nissan Meeting my dealership just attended. The owners are on the Nissan Approval committee, so we get the info before anyone.....
The Facts on the 2002 Nissan Maxima
Release Date September 2001 GXE, SE ( Auto) GLE
Release Date Late October 2001 SE ( Six Speed, yes I did say Six Speed)
I am copying the info directly from the Product Update sheet brought back from Arizona testing grounds yesterday, where the dealership owners drove this beast.
" A new 3.5 liter V6 engine, standard on all trims, pumps out a powerful 260 horsepower
The comfort and convenience package contents from 01, excluding sunroof, become standard on 02 GXE and SE models.
An optional Navigation system has been added for 02 to further demonstrate the premium image of Maxima.
A Six-Speed close ratio manual transmission and a helical limited slip differential will be available on the SE trim beginning with September production.
The front grill and bumper fascia has been redesigned.
Standard side sill spoilers give Maxima a lower and more aggressive stance.
New 4-bulb headlight styling with Xenon HID low beams improve night driving visibility.
The taillights have been redesigned with clear lens which will allow the Maxima to maintain its distinct styling.
The upgraded BOSE Audio System will include a CD6 changer.
The following are trim-specific changes:
GXE now has available 16-inch alloy wheels and premium AM/FM/CD audio with 6 speakers.
SE now has available 6 spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with P225/55R17 tires, new suede-like seat cloth and a 6-speed manual transmission.
GLE now has available drivers seat memory system, driver's seat entry/exit system, 7 spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with P225/55R17 tires, radio data system (RDS), upgraded Bose audio with 6 disc changer and speed sensitive auto volume.
Some additional options:
In the Meridian Edition a Heated steering wheel for the SE and GLE
Front Side airbags are now available as a stand-alone option.
The SE with manual with have Helical limited slip differential w/ drilled pedals...
NEW COLOR and TRIM info
2001
Tungsten Blue, replaces Satin Blue Pearl - SE and GLE only
Glacier Pearl, replaces Icelandic Pearl- all trims
Majestic Blue becomes a standard color, ( previously only on the SE Anniversary Model) SE and GLE only.
Sherwood Green is dropped."

Well I Hope I have proved my self to the ORG. I have been on the job at Smithtown Nissan for 8 days, and I have brought you the Scoop on the Maxima to drool over.....
I would hope that ANYONE on the ORG regardless of region thinking about ordering one of these would think of ME. I would love to start a waiting list for the 6-speed, and take deposits ASAP...I can help you anywhere in the USA.
The Six-Speed will be Very hard to come-by until January or February 02...
