Some Ebay help needed
Hey guys,
I'm having a problem with a seller on Ebay who is not willing to give me a refund for a item I purchased from them. I bought a Alpine MRD-605 mono block to power my 12" Eclipse DVC Titanium subwoofer. Subwoofer is wired up to run in parallel to a final resistance of 2ohms. Amplifier is rated to push 2ohm load according to the seller, and Alpine. Wireing in my car hasn't been altered since I ran the wires few years ago for my old Fosgate amp and 12" Kicker sub that was in the trunk, so I know the wireing is good- especially since I have a amplifier in there right now that works. They send me the 1st amplifier which sounded great for bout 1 hour and after that shut down and never played again. I contacted them and they told me to send that one back and they send me another one. All this took bout 1 month to complete, since the end of the auction. I wired up the new Amplifier right before Xmas and it was bad right out of the box, contacted them about a refund and I was given a run around that the CEO of the company was out etc, and that they will get back to me. I mailed them again and again and they informed me that no refunds are given as it doesn't state anything bout a refund on their sale add on Ebay. They gave me the choice on sending that amp back in again for another one and no refund. I want my $$$ back, PayPal doesn't want to file a complaint for some reason. What should I do about it ? I belive the reason PayPal doesn't wanna file a claim for me as the item auction ended on 27th of October. Do I have any other way of getting my $$$ back ?

Yeah, if you paid thru PayPal, you have a certain amount of time until you can file a complaint if the seller doesn't follow thru with his sale. Being that your sale was back in Oct (now that you have a complaint in Jan), it may be hard to get your money back from PayPal, since so much time has passed. Filing a complaint thru PayPal in a certain allowed time will protect you against fraud if the seller doesn't come thru with his auction. This is because PayPal and Ebay are the same company. Now, since so much time has passed, you're only chance is to deal with the seller, which could have some problems with communication and getting your problem resolved such as yours. Have you left feedback yet for this transaction? If not, then you can contact Ebay and file a complaint against the seller for "item not as described" or something else of that nature. You won't get your money back, though, unless the seller agrees to do so, but it will definetly put a strain on the seller if you complain. Yeah, sorry about the problem you're having. I sometimes go thru the same thing. It's just sad to see that there are some bad reputable sellers out there.
Sometimes ebay sucks. If the seller had no money refunded and only exchanges you will not get your money back. I suggest you have them send you a new amp. Also Have your wiring checked out before installing the amp. If it blows again go back to ebay, paypal, cc company and complain. Make sure that you write down the serial numbers of the amps. Put all this information on the feedback section of the item. I don't buy anything on ebay if there is one complaint. What is the item number. I would like to see who sold it to you.

I can't get on Ebay from work, but their id is BBSTRADE or something like that. I paid via PayPal balance that I had from selling some items. I have E-mailed them 3 times now within the last 2 weeks with no reply.
Its unfortunate that this happened but sadly I believe you may not be able to get your money back simply because a lot of time has elapsed since the auction end date.
unfortunately you'll probably have to come out of pocket and buy another one (not from them). For items like these I myself would prefer to buy from a local store that I have a receipt with, because I can go in there and kick up a fuss and get results. Its too easy to get screwed thru a computer and e-mail.
Did the item come with a 6 month warantee or something of that nature?
Best of luck to you, I hope he helps or that karma comes back to him, for being a bad salesman.

Thats the seller and the amp I bought from them. I might just exchange it for something else from them and use that.

I have bought 14 items off ebay in the last two months and was very pleased with the first 12. The last two, a engine wiring harness for my 96 and a trailer hitch for a 95 Maxima have been a problem. I was the only bidder on both and got for a low price, but it has been a month on the harness and I am now emailing to seller and have not got a response and on the hitch, it is not for a fourth gen. It might fit a third gen though. I emailed the guy yesterday and advised him and he responded saying send it back and he will return my money. He says now that he thought it came off a 95 but he isn't sure now. The problem with ebay is you have people out there that don't have a clue as to what they are auctioning off. And this guy did not tell me that he would also refund the shipping(both ways) and the cost of the money order as after I won the bid, I realized he don't use paypal.
It has been a learning experience, but overall, I have done pretty good.

I had a major problem with Paypal last year, I don't mess with them anymore, I sold my RC truck along with some other racing items for $450. The guy paid via paypal and I sent him the items, a month later I received an email stating that the transaction is under investigation. and my paypal account balance is negative $450. Upon investigation, the said buyer stated his credit card had been stolen, I sent everything they asked for, including the tracking info where I sent it to his address. They sided with him and I had to pay back the $450, plus, I never got my truck or anything else back. I sent email after email and called paypal, they said there was nothing they could do, I was screwed. The system is setup to protect the crooks, so be careful!!!!! They wouldn't help me a bit, wouldn't give me the persons number or anything. sigh.....
I checked the site out and its giving you a one year warranty so send it back like I said above. Just make sure you check out the wiring in the car. Also do a search on the product you want to buy. I found this amp under 200 dollars on a different site.

There's no choice here, thats your only option, use it.
You have 90 days to file a case through paypal. You can possible file through ebay even though it will probably send you to paypal once you state you paid through it even though paypal and ebay are the same owners
But the thing about the 1 year warranty is he is having to pay to send the amp back and they just keep sending nonworking amps so he losing more money then it being worth.
And the #1 no no is giving negative until your out of options or until you get a working amp. Make sure they leave positive first then leave negative Basicallly if you leave negative they will leave you negative.

Hm, that is a lot of monwy to get screwed for... Since you are from the States, there is a US gov't department that deals with on-line fraud. I will see to find the link for them, and you could possibly go through them or at least threaten the seller that you will in case they are not cooperating. It usually works
I consider myself one of eBay veterans (6 years, 800+ transactions, 99.6% feedback) and very seldomly I had to pull stunts like that...

A-ha, found it

Like I said, I would write them back or call them and mention this agency and threaten to go through with it. You can get their phone number through eBay by going through "request sellers info" process...
