HID reflector and bulb shield placement glare issues

I recently did an HID retrofit to my 2nd gen maxima where I hybridized my reflector with part of an infinity cefiro reflector.Does anyone know if the glare shield should be placed with the light hitting the top of the reflector, or the bottom of the reflector? Basically I would like to know if the glare in HID comes from light bouncing off the bottom of the reflector or the top. Any help would be appreciated

If you look at OEM reflector HIDs, you'll notice that it's the upper half of the reflector that actually puts out the light.

I would shoot a PM to Dr.Roy, he is the expert on all things headlight-related!

yeah i would have to say the glare comes from the bottom, since it reflects up ward. if you look at the 03 HID, the bottom is not meant to be reflected off, its like a cutoff or something, cant really explain it, but its not round like the rest of the headlight.

The light comes from the top half of the reflector.
