The best and most sensible reply yet. Like I said before I think the only max that would get real consideration from a company is the 6th gen because its the newest and would be the easiest to sell

Honestly, it is pretty worthless. First off everyone is just voting for what gen they own. So thats really only showing what gen that has the most members. You could of just looked at how many owners of each gen or what forum has the most activity if you wanted to know that. Plus, a business is not going to invest their money solely based on an internet poll, they are going to want to find for sure buyers and maybe even set up a pre production sale. Im sure companies get requests all the time to make models and never agree to it because theres no support

In all honesty, all the voting and talking about it means nothing if contacts arent being made to companies that will produce it.

sorry, i meant that these polls are worthless in deciding the gen that they should make. there should just be a poll for "Would you buy one regardless of gen?" and then if enough votes are there (i'm sure there would be), then the gen can be decided on.

5/5.5/6

for the sake of diecast, there is no difference between the 5.5 and 5. make one and just drop in an extra pair of headlights. nobody will notice the bumper difference.

I'd get a 4th gen, depending on price. Duh.

We're not talking about 1:18 models here, are we... more like 1:24 or so..?

But a 1:18 '97-99 SE would be sick. =)

Looks like we have a clear winner

Gen Votes %
3rd gen 10 7.69%
4th gen 58 44.62%
5th gen 22 16.92%
5.5th gen 32 24.62%
6th gen 8 6.15%

The company stated they will start making the 6th Gens tomorrow...

I don't understand how there's a clear winner when the 5th gen and 5.5th gen were BOTH JOBBED in this poll. They were split into two when the body style is essentially identical, with a few cosmetic differences and obviously the engine (but that shouldn't matter in a model)

IMO the 5th and 5.5th gen votes need to be combined for a total of 54 votes for that body style! So there is actually not a clear winner a lot of people want a model with that style, splitting the votes down the middle is just making it look like that's an unpopular choice compared to the 4th gen when it's actually VERY CLOSE

I would buy all of them, but voted 4th gen.

Isn't there a 3rd gen model on ebay? Also if the 4th gen was to be made into a model would it be the popular 97-99 body style? I like to have a 95-96 style.

The pole obviously had no influence over their decision because they appear to have decided to make a diecast of the ugliest generation maxima ever.

Well, if they make the 5.5 gen, please make sure to tell them not to forget the easily removable HID headlights to simulate the real car

Now, what size are we talking about? Of course, the bigger the better

Oh, what about price? Of course, the cheaper the better

That's all for NOW

the question is if everyone will pay up when the time comes that one is produced.

I brought it up with my company since we are in the business and they just laughed

I'm sure that some people won't pay. I know that I would buy one or more as long as they were not overpriced.

Why don't we find the minimum production number and cost per unit and start a f'ucking group deal? Say they have to make 500 in order to make money. If that's the case then we start a GD, everyone who wants one link it in their thread. If it costs less than or around $50 I'm totally in for a 5th gen.

my company says 2000+ pieces (unofficial number). Licensing fees from Nissan will affect the decision also

We can probobly get 2000 pieces... considering Redline and CE will order a few hundred, and the members here...

Licensing fees will certainly increase cost.

Let's hope it turns out as intricate as this:

thats a $700 dollar kit. Its not going to happen for the maxima.

A unassembled plastic kit for $20 dollars would be more feasible, if at all possible
