I super tightened the oil filter on my 06 Maxima, somehow when I layed down on the ground and changed my position I just cranked the filter way to tight and thinking hey I loosened it I went more

2 hours later I got the filter off, should of been 20 minutes

I installed new brake pads all around a few days ago. went to go work em in and nodiced it wasent stopping near as good as it used to. Didint know what I did wrong, followed my haynes (for backup) and the install was pretty straingt foward. My ebrake was basicly useless. Well turns out some moron put the brake pad lube on the side of the pad\disc. yea so I quietly got a hose and squirt it off and wiped it off as best as I could. Aparently alot of people make this mistake first time changing disc brakes. I felt pretty stupid.

I also backed up into what I thought was a driveway, but it turned out to be a high-curb and knocked the muffler off. It was ok since midas had replaced the muffler the year before and there was a lifetime warranty on it.

for midas

Well, this was 2-3 yrs ago. My friend had just gotten his MINT condition (in and out) 79 ElCamino. A few weeks later a bunch of friends from the highschool are hanging out at his house playing football. Anyways we take a Gatorade break and some of us are sitting on the tailgate of the ElCamino. After we finished, we try to put the tailgate back up but it wasnt closing all the way for some reason...

So my smart *** decides to do like I do with doors when they dont close all the way and give it a "hip-bang" to shut it. But, instead of hitting it at the sides where the metal is stronger I hit it right at the center, and left a nice 6" round dent on the tailgate. Cracked the paint and everything. . I felt like such a @#$#%^%^*&@#$%%!!!

should be here real soon.

In the mean time, I have to add brake fluid every 2 days or so.

Today, opened up hood, took off the cap to the master cylinder fluid reservior, and it was pretty windy out.

The wind took the hood down, cracked the cap to the master cylinder reservoir, which was lying on the inner hood thing.

Not too bad though, 8 bucks through local nissan parts place.

But I felt really dumb though..

can't believe the damn wind was so powerful... I guess the surface area of hood does make it like a freaking sail lol
That wasn't dumb, maybe your gas struts are shot. Mine are. Even with 25% off, I didn't want to pay based on the list price of over $90 each?????? Supposedly Advance Auto has generic ones for the 4th gen at $20 a pop, but I never got them yet. I replaced my brakes today (pads only) and my hood slammed shut too. Luckily my cap was on and not off to the side or anything. Man those pads are so easy to replace, and I used the hardware kit this time. It's been 4 years, but everything came apart easily and the pistons went in like butter. 2nd pad change at 120k. The pads have about 65k and were 70% gone....

I thought I was turning into a Jack in the Box, but I turned in next to some railroad tracks. When I tried to back up and turn around I hit the tracks, busted the end of my muffler and broke the anti sway bar mount. When I got it fixed I also found out Les Schwabb had forgotten to tighten my rear struts all the way when I had them replaced so I'd been driving on loose struts for a year.

I also missed a turn on the highway while I was driving at night, I ran off the road into the middle of a wheat field doing 55. Nothing happened except I kept finding pieces of wheat in my engine compartment for about a year
