I received a ticket for having my fog lights on several weeks ago. It's the factory fog lights that I have. Those of you with factory fog lights, are they on all the time, or just sometimes? I know the fog lights are meant for when there's fog, but when you turn them on at night, it does look cool. I don't turn them on all the time, but I guess that night I just forgot about them being on. Btw, I have hyperwhite bulbs instead of the factory bulbs.

 

You can always argue that they are driving lamps.. Maybe you had the fogs pointed too high and glared at the cop or something.. Or maybe the cop just had nothing better to do.

In some states 4 white lights being on is illegal when oncoming traffic is approaching or you have a car in front of you. I was ticketed this many years ago as well. I believe though 2 whites and 2 ambers is not

 

where do you live? if it's ca, i believe that state law says that you can have 4 lamps on at max..

 

i would fight this one if i were you,how can you get ticketed for factory foglights,how stupid is that.... dumbass pork chops have nothing better to do

 

Every suv you drive by always has them on, but I get pulled over for it in the middle of the night with no other cars on the road! cRAZY COPS...

 

Check the aiming on those things. Fogs are supposed to shine low and wide. Only way you blind somebody is when they're oncoming and right as they pass.

Can't believe cops try to enforce a fog light law. I'd say 25%-33% of new cars & SUV's now have them standard. And few people turn em off if they could.

He has 6 Lights on ALL the time! He has the factory headlights and foglights, plus some aftermarket driving lights, and no matter where he goes, whether it is 6:00 in the morning, or 6:00 at night, he has all 6 of them on.

There are laws stating how many sets of lights you can have on at any giving time. Ever wonder why from factory the maxima fog turns off when you have your brights on? It's cause you will have 3 sets of lights on...

The "dumbass pork chops" are simply doing their job.

It was maybe just that cop. He even showed me the various tickets he gave other people for having their fog lights on as well. My fog lights are pointed as they should, low. So, that wasn't the problem. I did fight it, I gave the ticket to my lawyer to take care of it. Still, I have seen many people with their fog lights on all the time, so what they going to do, give everyone a ticket? They might be doing their job, but I would think their time is better spent trying to catch actual criminals maybe? Btw, I live in Louisiana.
