Have a CAI and need a place to get smogged in Sacramento

I tried a few different shops, all three failed me on the visual portion of the smog check because of my Place Racing Intake. Damn C.A.R.B smog *****!

Anyone know of any shops within a reasonable driving distance that aren't so strict and would let me pass the visual part of the smog inspection with a Place Racing CAI?

Thanks!

cant really answer your question but sounds like you might have to install stock air box and then after inspection replace it again ?

That would be your best bet....you did keep your stock box right?

Yeah I got the stock air box, all packed away and in storage.

F'that puttin that old unit back on. I'll get passed. Methinks I have a plan!

Dammn I haven't had a car smogged since 2000. And that one was a 1990 with lotsa mods. Not one problem smogging that beast either (1990 SHO). Things have changed greatly in Cali.

yea the new laws are really bull, Ive been watching the news and from what I understand, you cannot modify the breath of your engine therefore intake supercharger, turbo ect. and they can pull you over to check it at "officers discretion "
with the cops in Nevada County, CA im screwed

for more of this horrible information check out

so what about guys like me that have a supercharger and exhaust cut-out? im moving to sacramento in a few months from Texas, so am i going to have problems when i move out there? bc from what i have heard, even though im in CA, as long as i have my Texas plates on the car, then they cant write me up for any of their "illegal" modifications as long as all of my modifications are legal here in TX.. does anyone know anymore about this?

I used to take off and put on my intake every time I'd go into the dealer for a warranty repair. I think I've installed and removed the intake over 10 times now.
