Teaser pics + Q's..... Again... :) BBK!~!

So I ordered my BBK and the pieces finally came in.

Does it look like I installed the pads right? I didnt know which way the small metal wire/clip went so I installed it the only way I could think of w/o it comming out easily.
I do not have a shim kit. Anyone have the OEM part number and price? Can I run w/i it or will it be loud? Anyone try the Autozone shim kit?

Does anyone have a HowTo for Matt's kit? What do I do with all the washers? I am basicly a noob when it comes to brakes. So I need the instructions on how to bleed them properly too. Should I continue to use Dot3 fluid or move up?

Also, when I install the rotors, which way should the slots be going?

The metal clip doenst look installed right. It needs to go around both brake shoe retaining pins. To me it looks like its only connected on one end.

Is that powder coat? What kind of pads?

My original plan was to use Jeff's brackets but then I would have to find the bolts and buy the lines. I do not think my wheels would have cleared his brake setup either. But I would have saved about 50-75bucks if I would have went his way.

BTW, each rotor weights about 19.4LBS.

It goes into both pins.

I have no idea, only one rotor is this color, the other rotor is a tan/silver colors
The G2 paint kit will be here on Friday.

Good luck doing the rear calipers. Be prepared to spend 3x what you spent on the fronts. Z32 rears are a disk/drum setup so you have 2 options, no parking brake, or convert to a disk/drum set up which is expensive. Would look pimp if you pulled it off though.

The slots should be facing forward... the rotor you have pictured goes on the drivers side.

Sexy calipers, I love the flat black.

so you just asked for zinc plated slotted rotors for your 4th gen , or are those like a newer maxima rotor size.
which gd did you use? i was considering blanks but maybe i should get slotted as well...
sorry for all the questions.

Those calipers look good man.. I haven't seen any with that black coating on them and not a high gloss powdercoat. me likes!

the bracket goes on exactly how you have it pictured, but you've got the rotor swapped. the caliper you have pictured is the left side, with the bracket bolted to it properly.

the washers for the other two bolts go on the ends (under the bolt head and nut).

the rotor you have pictured in the top pic is for the right side.

wow that looks REALLY good. if i had more $$ i would get a brake kit, but i think my improved braking will have to come from budget oriented weight reduction.

So the rotor goes on the passenger side and the caliper in the pic is the drivers side one?

I ordered the Beck/Arnley calipers off RockAuto. Like I said earlier, the other caliper is not black, it is the normal silverish color. I ordered the G2 Caliper paint so I will be repainted both black, but the letters will stay the same.

there's a certain order you do it, i think the rear passenger brake first. bleed that until the brake fluid in the resevoir goes down (but not too far!) and add some of the new brake fluid, keep bleeding until you see the new brake fluid coming out and repeat on the other 3 brakes (in a specific order, i don't remember so check on that).

and i use ATE super blue brake fluid.

are you worried about/ or do you know if the rotors will rub on the control arms? on blehmco's site it says
"It also doesn't rub on the control arms (at least not on 3rd or 5th gens)."

There hasn't been an issue yet with them rubbing on any control arm.

I was initially worried about it since the 300ZX and skyline rotors have a small issue with rubbing on the control arm. The 2004 Maxima rotors are sufficiently large enough in diameter to clear the bottom of the arm and there are no problems with it.
