Buying a new car -- suggestions/recommendations
Buying a new car -- suggestions/recommendations
So I have owned my 96 Maxima since 2000, and I am now in the market to buy a "new" vehicle. While I have loved my Maxima, I do feel it has required a lot of maintenance (starter, alternator, trans., etc.) I know all cars will need routine work (brakes, fluids, batteries, etc.), but I also NEED reliability and durability. SO... my dilemma is what car to buy. I am torn between a 6th gen. Maxima and the Subaru Legacy GT (2005 or 2006). I would appreciate feedback to help in my decision. I have done TONS of research online, so I'm not asking anyone to do my work for me, rather just seeking information from others who may be more informed than myself or have had personal experience with these cars.
Thanks to those that want to reply.

are those the only 2 cars ur thinking about? u gotta ask yourself wut this car will be to u...for instance do u want something to just get around and cruise comfortably with family and such or something to have fun with and play on the streets? combination of both? something big or smaller? i know u said that your car has had some problems but i know that I wouldnt choose one car over another because its more reliable than the other. but thats just my preferences, i on the other hand, would probably look at that after the size factor, style factor, performance factor, then maybe reliability comes next. oh yeh, price factor is a HUGE one. if its only maxima or legacy...i dont know how reliable subarus are compared to maxima so im of no help there. personally i would honestly take the legacy cuz i prefer its style, its a nice average size, and im assuming it has more potential performance wise but i dont know. good luck

Help me out here -- what exactly is "cromulent?"
And then let me clarify my post and why I posted in this forum. I guess what I am looking for more specifically is feedback from some of the 6th gen. owners with regards to reliability and/or common problems with the 6th gen. Maxima's. Additionally anyone who has owned, does own, or has a friend who owns the Legacy, you're input could prove useful as well. I love to take my car out and have fun on Sunday afternoons, but reliability is as high a priority as fun. As far as size, from these two choices, it is easy to see the type of room I am looking for. And if price were no object the list would be much longer. I guess this thread might have gone in th"6th gen." forum or the "other cars" forum, so forgive my mistake, I am still just a
