How often do you guys recommend the gear oil to be changed? I checked in the owners manual and it just says something like inspect every other oil change and add/replace as necessary. Every time I've had my oil changed the guy just looked in and said all was OK. Is he just checking the level or should I check it myself for smell/quality?

It's over 37K miles, hasn't been changed yet. Will most likely put in Redline MT90 if I can find a local place that carries it.

You can get it inspected if you wish by Blackstone labs but IMHO it's not really necessary. If you want to switch to syntethic tranny oil go ahead. But be wary of possbile tranny output shaft leaks. But at onl 37k, I doubt that will be a problem. I don't think Nissan has regular scheduled intervals for manual tranny fluid other than the stated inspections.
