If anyone wants to finger point, America is to blame for crumbling to every environmental group who lobbied congress so we could not tap our own resources. We are so **** over oil and conservation we cannot drill anywhere new and we have not built an oil refinery in 30 years. We have enough oil, the fu%cktart conservationist are some consumed with the nearly extinct 3 eyed toad that they have shut our own country down making us dependent on foriegn oil.

Those of us alive long enough to remember the gas crises in the 70's of even / odd pump days and 3 hour waits in gas lines mean we didn't get it then, why should now be any different...

Oh and who give's a **** if the President wants to launch a criminal probe into the high price of gas, that is nothing more than a knee jerk feel good reaction from the federal government to stretch this **** through the summer so we continue to hurt and the federal/state and local governments continue to reap the tax benefits.

No one will do **** about this so agree, suck it up. If you really want to do something, Vote these stupid mothafu%cken liberal pin heads out of office.

it's not so much the liberals, but the conservatives who also turn white at the site of protesting hippies... but you're right, that is a major problem causing this. Just because environmentalists are wealthy enough to afford high-priced health food, overpriced hybrid cars, and can land high-end condos close to work so they can bike-ride in.. it doesn't mean we can all do that.

Freakin health/environment freaks. Make them drive to work 100+ miles round trip daily in hours upon hours of traffic and you'll see a mood change.

Well said! I was just watching O'Reilly Factor on Fox news tonight and this was one of his arguments with some greenpeace hippie.

In a 5 minute span that's 100 gallons @ $0.01 profit/gallon, that's $1 every 5 minutes. That comes out to about $12/hr, $288/day if it's a 24-hr place, $2016/week, $8064/month. Even if we reduce those figures by half... $4k a month in PROFIT. That's not bad considering we're not taking into consideration snaks, cigs, and other stuff which may add another $2k monthly (or more if the cost of those goods is way low).

If your wife pulls in another $3k/month at some whatever job, that's a pretty sweet household income... you break the $100k/year mark. Not stinking rich, but you have fewer worries.

You are right. A store can get a carton of Marlboro 100's for about 7 bucks. Each pack is currently at 3.67. Thats 66 dollars profit per carton. Lets say they sale 50 cartons worth a day. Thats 3300 dollars a day in just cig profits.

I know they get cigs for 7 a carton because my friend partially owns a liquor store out here and he gives me a wholesale price for eveything in his store. The biggest profit margin in a store is lighters and nudie magazines

I seriously can't see how you're getting 26-28mpg in the city. 30-32mpg on the freeway is very plausible.
