air-bag light came on!!! help!

I installed a head-unit in my 2001 maxima. after installing, i pulled out the air bag plugs right above the glove compartment, and plugged it back together, now my air-bag light is flashing. anyone know how to reset the ECU or watever. if i take it to the dealership, will they charge me for getting th ecu reset. nothing is wrong with the car. thanks in advance.

I had the same problem when I bought my 2k1. I just took it to the dealer and they reset ECU for me for free.

to clear the ECU? unplug the power for 30 hours (neg + pos) for 00-01

for 02-03 it should be in the stickies somewhere in the 5th gen. that's the crazy procedure he is talking about i think

i tried the unplugging the battery. **** didnt work. the other thing i tired was that, if your air-bag light is just blinking, then you can use this.

1. If its blinking. turn the car off and turn it back on. the air-bag light will be on for the normal check, the moment it starts to blink shut the car off.

2. Turn the car on again, and wait till the light starts to blink again, dont let it blink. there is a split second where the light tuns off and then on again, turn the car off between that split second. Do this 3 times.

3. Turn the car back on and you will see that the light will be blinking in a different manner, slower manner. Now when you turn the car off and on again, the light should stop blinking. Worked for me, good luck. and let me know if it works.
