I was delivering tonight, and happened to find a 3000GT tailgating me severely. So I changed lanes quickly and he pulled along side of me, and happened to have his girl in the car. It was an SL, not a VR4, otherwise I would be writing about how I lost instead of won. there was a bit of traffic, about 10PM, on a main road with a 55mph speed limit and 2 lanes either way. Through about 3 lights we tried to get next to eachother at the red, but it just wasnt happening. This crazy lady in a minivan was driving like 65 in a 55, and I didn't feel like really getting on it so I could pass a minivan just so I could let the guy get next to me. Finally we got a light where I was the front car in my lane, and he was directly behind me. I accelerated quickly so that he could squirt out next to me, and we dropped the hammer from a 45 mph roll, I was in 3rd, and did not downshift, though I should have. So from 45 mph he pulled about 1/2 a length on me, and then the Max got into its power, probably around 60 mph, and it was all over for him. I put a length and a half on him by 80, I flipped the hazards on so the girl who happened to be with him knew that her man had just gotten smoked by a stock 4 door sedan. I doubt he was very happy.

I know a guy who knows this particular 3000GT owner (its quite recognizable as it has a big *** windshield banner that says MITSUBISHI and has the 3 pointed star on it) and it has dual aftermarket exhaust, wheels, springs, and intake, any other mods I'm not sure of. None of that matters, the Max was just too much for him to handle.
