I don't have one. But if you are in a hurry, all of my friends roll their fenders with those mini wooden baseball bats.

yeah I know I get their catalog at home, I just wanted to rent one from somewhere, cause 300$ is a lot for a tool I will use once....but I found rollyourfender.com and they have a pretty good deal...check it out for anyone else who may need this..

Just to re-iterate: Heat/warm the paint thoroughly before rolling.

Otherwise you WILL crack the paint. Trust me, I know

i'm not really familiar with this. what's the point of this? is it just to make clearance for larger tires? and how can it be done with a bat?

Yeah, yeah I get your point.....I will try it that way but I may just give in and rent it, just because I would rather have it done right then trying to mess with a bat....but as far as the question about why roll your fenders....well two reasons.

1. If you are doing a big break kit and you use a spacerto move your wheels out to clear the caliper you will have to roll the fenders to allow enough room for the tires!

2. If you have a low offset wheel you might have some rubbing issues as well.

Yeah the deal is it is coming from ohio and it takes about two days...to get to me...then I have 5 days to use it and then ship it back with the prepaid return label inclulded. It is only going to cost me 50$ rental that is with the shipping and then a 300$ fully refundable deposit, just incase youdecide to keep it they want to at least have the money to replace it. But thats it and they send you the fender roller along with a heat gun and a video on how to do it. SO its a pretty good deal if anyone is interested...www.rollyourfender.com

Good product. Used it on my friends 350z. Make sure you have two people, one for the heat and one for the roller. Go slow and don't crack the paint.

Thanks Mike that is good to know, I was planning on having a few buddies over to drink some beers and work on the car, so I guess I made the right choice to have them come over and help...by the way I noticed under our fron fenders the plastic liners would be in the way when you try to roll the fenders, anyone have any ideas, I dont want to pull all the plastic out....well hey look at it as weight savings right....

Thanks, Bruce

Yeah its a good deal, but if they dont have any...you can go here http://www.dasautosport.com/store/cg...=Fender_Roller and the guy called me the other day and said he has some on the shelf right now, their price is 60$ for the rental and 275 for the deposit...or rollyourfender.com has a 50$ rental and a 300$ deposit. Really the only difference is 10$ but I would say rollyourfender.com is a better deal even though they have a higher refundable deposit...although the dasautosport guy said the one he had on the shelf was damn near brand new and that means not to much wear and tear. Just something to think about.

I wouldn't worry about the condition. The one we got from rollyourfenders looked to be brand new. They are a real simple device, not much to mess up on them.

On the 350z we did I don't remember an issue with the plasic fender liner. Must be different on that car because I don't even remeber it being there.

After the first fender we did, we found the best process to be roll it in a little at a time, step by step. Trying to do too much at once caused slight paint cracking.

Its actually not as hard as it sounds.. Get a nice sized wooden bat.. Stick it in the fender you would like to roll against the tire of course and have a couple friends sit in the section of the car you are working and slowly move the car forward and back following this movement with the bat. It will nicely crease the lip inside against the fender and if you do it slow enough it wont even harm the paint. I have done it this way 4-5 times without a chip of paint coming out..

To each his own though..

im also curios as whats going to happen with the splash gaurds, the clips attach right to the edge of the inner fender.
looks like i'll need to do this too since im addign 20 mm spacers. i didnt realize this made that big of a difference.
it looks like in the after picture his fender isnt like the smoothest curve i've ever seen has a little bit of a "dent" in it.
