It appears to be an electronic device that imitates the sound of a real blow off valve. ...and I thought fake cross drilled discs were bad...

that stuff is old, my cousin used to have a fake BOV that would draw air from the intake stream. it sucked alot of power from the motor and made it run all crappy. Dont do it, regardless electronic or manual, Its still fake
