RT Cat Questions
I just installed a used RT cat today. I haven't taken it out for a drive yet, but I started the car in my parking lot and played with the throttle a little and it sounds good and doesn't appear to leak.
After shutting off the car ( it was only running about 5 minutes ) I began to clean everything up and noticed a small amount of water dripping from the connections to the cat ( from the y and the b pipe ).
Is this normal? I can't say that I have ever looked before. Did I not tighten the bolts enough?

The general problem that has been observed with the RT cat is that the rotating flanges do not make a good seal either at the Y-Pipe or the B-Pipe. You have to really really tighten the bolts down hard and it should be passable.
The radical solution is to take the car to an exhaust shop and have them chop the flanges off the RT cat and weld permanent ones on. This (unfortunately) is the best solution.
I did this to my RT cat - you can see the install pics at http://grprete.jnet.net.
You have to go to the Modifications section and look at the work that I had done on the Courtesy B-Pipe extension.
