What car would you get, other then the new Maxima or the I35 if you had up to 35K, but it had to be a 4 dr car.

Just wanted to get some more recent ideas.

Sadly, I would most likely do the same. Although I would check out the A4 also.

BMW 330i if it fit under the 35k cap, otherwise 325i.

Also, the IS-300 with a manual trans. Although they are a little small for me, but they will work.

I would also get the TL Type S with the Body Kit and the Navigation System. All would be under 35K.

The 330i would be the 1st choice probably, but since that would be closer to 40K, the TL wins.

The A4 2.8 Audi is also a decent car, but with the new one being out in a few moths, I don't think you should go there, unless you wait for the new one. But still get better performance and probably better reliability from the TL.

You can also get C240 for under 35K, but it's a tad to weak...

Lexus IS300 is under 35K and a great looking car with nice performance, but I just like that Type-S more...!!!

What other limiting criteria?

New/used? Auto/Stick? Euro/Japanese/Domestic?

Forgotten cars in that range are the Volvo S60 T5 and the Saab 9-3 SE (Viggen's just out of the range)

Maybe a 1st year A6 2.7T can be had for that price.

A used Cadillac Seville STS (they're current since 98) is under the bar. The poor cousin is the Bonneville SSEi, sharing the same platform

Chrysler 300M
Lincoln LS V8
Oldsmobile Aurora

I would definitely look at the TL Type-S because:

1) roomy and comparable to your current I-30 in size
2) 260 hp definite horsepower bump, just imagine it w/ a few mods
3) available manual tranny in a few months
4) affordable DVD nav system
5) honda build quality
6) great aftermarket support

I have been considering the TL myself a little more lately, the problem I have is headroom, the Max has a ton more headroom than the TL, but otherwise it fits the criteria for my next family sedan. Since I have 2 kids, the BMW 330i is just too small but would be my 1st choice otherwise.

I'd wait 10 monts or so

and buy an Infiniti G35, supposedly Nissan's best handling car to date, smaller than and I30 on the outside but roomier on the inside, 250+ hp...a really nice interior, with cool pop up Navigation...the only thing is, not sure if it'll be offered with a stick or not (it better be).

Go with a BMW

If the 330 is out of the price range, definitely try a 325xi, the all wheel drive could be fun...

Used

I'm a fan of some used cars that others have mentioned. I'd go with 5Series or an A6.

I'd get a 98 A4 1.8T then go to APR and pick up their Stage III turbo kit, bolt it up in a day, and be running well into the 13s. I'd get some wheels, springs, and nose spoiler. Total: $30000

I'd have to say that I'd get the Acura TL-S, or (if I could get the sticker under $35k) a BMW 330i.

What other limiting criteria: Has to be faster then the current generation maxima, both stick and Auto. I've been looking into some used GS400s other then that, I think I'd want new. I love the 330i, but its up there near and over 40G.

I love the way the i30T looks, and its feature set and I have its handling way above par now, but it doesn't have enough umph/power for me. Not going to get beat by another stick shift Sunfire GT again even if in my family car. lol.

A stick Sunfire GT beat you?? That car must have been modded up the wazoo!! I doubt a stock Sunfire GT could outrun you.

Used last gen Q45, Audi A4 w/ ARP stage III, used E36M3 4 door, previous gen Audi S6 sedan or Avant(about 250hp), used IS300 w/ turbo kit might be under 35k, Mercedes 96-97' E420?

An e420 would be cool, whats the specs on that?

Also, my car had a lot of stuff in the trunk(Over 50LB), and a 280Lb passanger when this Sunfire started something (Maybe those are just excuses). On a slight hill and a perfect launch I won (second race). Stayed the same, start pulling lenghts from midway in second gear and up.

Else (First and last race), zero to 50 I loose. Pulls ahead two car lengths, too short of a time to catch up. It looked stock, was a 5 spd. aybe just an intake. He would stop at 50 though.

sad.

Your I30T look real nice why don't you Supercharge it?->

The CL-S is a nice car if you want something with 2 doors. A4,Wrx,Impala,TL,Passat In my opinion is a down grade from a I30T. Like I said before Used 540 might be a little tight but nice for the money,Gs400 better buy for your money,New Lincoln Ls yes its american but a good buy for your money. Used Acura RL 99,or 2000. last gen Q45 the most bang for your buck. E420 benz
not bad but I would rather take the GS400. Audi A6 2.7Turbo If you like the styling.
All those other 3 series BMW are just to small for all the money theY charge for it you might as well keep your I30T.

I was also thinking how I love everything on the car, just needs more power. I'm afraid of the Stillen SC due to all the bad things I've heard.

i've seen two people mention this ..
if anyone is considering getting a Q45 make sure it is the last gen with NO grill, i think the years were 90-94? ..
95-97? is the same car but with a grill up front and other minor changes...

the Q45 with no grill is the one with the FIRE Breathing 4.5L 287hp 300lbft motor .. the following years up until the current model are SLOW and not worth it..
reason i say is my cuz had a 93Q45 and i spent a lot of time in that car and driving and under the hood .. it's an amazing car ... i was really considering getting one
a 93 Q45 with 90K miles (which is nothing on this car) costs bout 7K ..
The ONLY problem i had is they are Gas guzzlers.. bout 13-15mpg under hard driving

I second that. From what I had read so far, it is nice.

It is also a RWD too.
