5spd was clocked by a mag at 6.6s...auto is like 7.x

And having a friend w/ a stopwatch isn't a good way to measure it b/c reaction times are too long for any accuracy.

Counting with your fingers is much more accurate.

I think in late 1994, a car mag did 6.6 on a 1995 SE. But through the years they got slower through 1999. Nissan still put that 6.6 number in the 1998 brochure, even though the car was tested at 7.1 manual by a mag that year.

All I know is I got toasted by an Audi 2.7T auto, and I'm not sure the Audi is in the 6's, but probably is. I'd say 7.1 is a real number for a 4th gen.

Buy a Gtech Performance meter pro, only about $30 from ebay. It tells you 1/4 mile time and speed, 0-60, horsepower, braking distance, and some other crap. My best 0-60 was 6.56 according to the gtech with short ram intake. With stopwatch it was 6.2

Gtech isn't all that accurate either. The 0-60 times reported by magazines are the result of rather elaborate setups that individuals such as ourselves cannot/do not replicate.

Yeah, but the Gtech is a lot more accurate than a stopwatch.

Magazines test procedures use a test track, "third wheel" testing systems, and they average the final results to what you see in the pages.

So, 6.5 is probably accurate for ONE run. But make five or six , and average them out, and a 7.1 is likely the mathematical result. So , your stopwatch or other measuring device is likely to record a faster time than the mags. Also , keep in mind standard speedo error when doing this....

just my 2 cents....
