Tranny fluid stain.

Small question.

I have a ginormous stain from amsoil atf on my NEW jCrew polO! Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this stain? I tried the regular wash, which didnt help and i also used shout. Its like the tranny fluid make an area darker than the rest.

Any suggestions?

If you have already washed and dried it then it's probably too late to remove the stain. It would have been prudent to spray some degreaser on the stain before washing it.

that teaches you a lesson to never change any type of oil with nice clothes on....you dont see techs wearing nice polo or button up shirts to work do you? its cause they know it will get dirty if they do, so lesson learned...."NEXT TIME DONT WEAR SOMETHING NICE TO WORK ON A CAR IF YOU KNOW ITS GOING TO BE A DIRTY JOB"

Hehe... well I've always been told/read like dissolves like. What I'm getting at is, you should try to dry-clean it. Since atf is petroleum based, maybe the dry-cleaners might be able to get it out. The solvent used in dry-cleaning is also petroleum based (they initially used kerosene). Give it a shot and get back to us.

Pre-treat with dish soap, like dawn or palmolive! Let set for about 5 minutes and wash.

Repeat about three times! It also doesn't hurt to pre-treat with Tide AFTER you have treated with palmolive! Being persistent is the key!

i suggest you wash the shirt again and pour some of the grease into the cycle... if you cant get the stain out, might as well make the shole shirt the same colour! then no one will know...

That's a good way to destroy a washing machine.

haha i was thinkin about that.. i shouldve said "it shrunk when i washed it" and maybe theyll give me another one.

*edit

wait nvm the return policy is:

within 60 days of original purchase J. Crew glady accepts returns of unworn, unwashed, or defective merchandise for a full refund.

I prefer Express's return policy where u can return anything receipt, or no receipt.

If you make a big enough deal, you can return anything anywhere.
