I was under the impression that y-pipes had a fairly low power improvement on the VQ35, compared with the VQ30 (hence why not many 3.5's go the y-pipe route). Discuss.

here is a pic off the link. i put a ypipe on my 02 and its worth 5-7 HP. although looking at the pic, you are losing the main cat as well, so maybe its worth a few more ponies..

i thought the precats were in the manifold? so the 6th gen has 4 cats? 1 in each manifold, that precat, and the main cat after that?

there's another big crimp in the exhaust further down the line.
