today my girl was sitting on my trunk and then late i tried opening and no go.
Is there any possible way to open the trunk
when i press the trunk release button i hear the clunking noise that engages the locks so i know the mechanism is still working

any help would b appreciated.

 

This was happening with my trunk yesterday and it happened to be that the humidity was making the rubber stick to the trunk. I just wiped the stripping down with a little WD40.

Did you try to open it with the key?

 

Are you in valet mode? Open your trunk with the key and play with the switch (look down). Close your trunk and try opening it again.

 

On the 4th gen maxima, there is a safety latch so no one can open the trunk with the remote or push button near the drivers side. You best bet is to open the trunk with the key, and when you open the trunk look to the inside of the trunk and you will see a little latch where you can make it click up and down. click it up so you will be able to make the trunk open with the remote. (the latch is where the metal pieces connect when you open and close the trunk.. hope this helps. bro good LUCK!

 

you can always drive down my street and see if it pops open on it's own like mine does.

(Do check the switch.)

 

Did you try unlocking it with the key and pulling up the lid? If it is stuck you can always reach in through the ski passthrough on the backseat and push it open.
