totalled 4gen max...looking for suggestions

So my max is now officially double salvaged :-) I'll keep it for my gf, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things.

I don't like the look of 2004 and up maximas, so I want to stay up to 2003. Unless ofcourse there's alot of benefits by moving up a year to 2004. I am not very familiar with newer gens, so which one would be the best to get. I want a manual, a 6 speed would be nice. But since i wanna get another salvaged, i don't usually have a choice in trim level, color, etc. Are all 5th gen the same, what's this deal with 4.5gen and 5.5gen? Is there a big difference in gas milage when comparing a 3.0 4gen to a 3.0 5gen and to a 3.5 5 gen? I will also keep an eye out for a wrecked G35, but those are really hard to find in a decent shape and with a manual. Any input and suggestions from you guys will be appreciated. Thanks.

If you get a VQ35, be sure to get headers before the pre-cats fail.

get a 2003 6-speed, you'll never go wrong, step up from before and its better for performance than maximas after 2003, 2004-2006 are heavy *** maximas, dont hear too many of them being used for performance

I just get alot of satisfaction when I buy a car for a fraction of the price, and I look at a dude pulling up next to me in the same car after he just got raped by the dealer on the price. I'll try to find a 6sp 2003, hopefully it will be soon. PS. Yeah i can buy on iaa.

If you got the money for a M35 you should just get the M45 (more power plus less weight FTW!). But I would go for the Altima SE-R
