Passanger... Big difference?

In a 1/4 mile race down the track, would a passanger make a big difference? If so, how big of a difference?

Probably. People take their backseat and spare tire out to save weight so...

Yeah any weight will slow the car down..Might not be much but kicking the passenger out would help reduce weight.

how much does that passenger weigh? a good rule is that every 100 pounds means a tenth of a second. so if the person weighs 150lbs, expect to be .15 seconds slower than you should be

seems kinda silly to do something you know is going to hurt your time on the track.. most serious racers wouldn't hesitate to remove something that weighed over 100lbs and didn't do anyhting for performance...

100lbs = .1 is a good rule of thumb. When I used to race my mustang, I took out all the seats (except the driver) and anything else not needed, spare tire, trunk carpet, tools, ect. I even took the convertible top motor out once. I remember being pissed that my times went up when I put in the 6-point roll bar. The things we sacrafice for safety.
