It's kind of the other way around. The defrosters don't ruin the tint, but taking the tint off can ruin the defroster by breaking the little lines. Just be careful if you ever decide to take it off.

Ive wondered the same thing. Its a ***** to get off on the rear with out the chemicals that soften the film up.

Why would you want to take it off?

Rear Window Tint Cost

Anyone know approx. how much it would cost for tinting the rear window? I can do all the other windows on my maxima, but the back one I am a little more worried about.

I just emailed this company www.windowtinting.com and they said confermed what most are saying..."no effect, if it was installed properly".

I've never had defrosters effect my tint. My tint has effected my defrosters when I took it out on an old car though, gotta be careful on that move.

I have always heard that the tint would make the rear defrost work better .. or at least thats what a buddy of mine used to claim that his rear defrosted seemed to work better after he got his rear glass tinted.

My car has a really good tint job on it and the guy who put it in actually did something to the strips before applying the tint to where the defrost doesn't even work anymore. Kinda sucks but it was for the better of the tint.
