Must Read! Universal Twin Power Cord = Cancer

So I was in walmart the other day and walked down the automotive aisle. I bought a 12v twin power cord unit to plug into my cigarette lighter and have 2 plugs. One for the V1 and the other my Sirius radio. I get home and I open it up and notice a little white tag on one of the cords. It reads: "The use of this product is likely to cause exposure to chemicals known to the state of cailfornia to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm."

I'm returning it asap.
The brand name on the front is Electro-Tek.

Is that an exact quote? Wouldn't you think that if it's likely (which means >50%) to cause cancer and birth defects then they would like, not manufacture it? I mean dayum! Not even cigarette label warnings sound that dangerous!

yea i cant go a day w/o seeing a similar warning around here....not just on product labels but even in public places such as parking lots/parking structures, near dumpsters, around commercial buildings, hospitals.....heck i even saw a sign posted in an alley behind an elementary school for crying out loud!!!

....nice of them to give us fair warning i guess

It sounds like your typical CYA (cover yo' @ss). They're probably just trying to protect themselves from people suing them. However, if you can find another cord that doesn't have that warning, I'd get it just in case.

The extension cords and lamps and just about everything electical I buy have the same stickers. Ironically, the gasoline you put in your car and the french fries you put in your mouth probably have a greater chance of causing cancer, but since they don't put warning labels on those, you don't think about taking those back. I'm also so sure you slather on SPF60 sunblock every hour on the hour and wear head to toe covering when you're out in the sun. Living gives you cancer. Get over it.

Yup, but hopefully it doesn't kick in until after we're dead.

California is the most litigious, contentious, disputatious, quarrelsome state in this county. The govt is just covering there asses with these stipulations.

Anything or any place you touch, see, smell, or visit in California has those signs.

walk into a building, and there's a sign on the front door.. "Something in this building is known by the state of Kalifornia to potentially cause some harm to your body, which must mean cancer, so you're going to die if you walk into this building."

Literally EVERYTHING sold in Cali, from plutonium to electronics to drinking water has that label on it.

You didn't touch it with your bare hands did you? LOL j/k yeah there are alot of things have that label on it. I bought a garden hose and it had the same label. Even water bottles have some weird labels like DO NOT REFIL.
