Engine Noise Problem
#1
My car seems very quiet when I am idle in park. Once I start moving I hear this rattling noise like the engine is hitting the hood. So i pop up the hood and the noise stops. I have to drive with the hood popped open or the noise is unbearable. I tried to adjust the hood close positon to be higher but it only solved the problem for a little while. The noise is back and more annoying now. Could there be a problem with the engine mount?

Two things, 1.) is your FSTB bolted down completely? 2.) Is your Popcharger also secured down? Both of those will rattle by hitting the hood if not secured properly.

Well on my car, the FSTB vibrates against the hood slightly when my engine is on the fast cold idle. Warmed up, the sound goes away. Just try this. When you hear the noise, pop the hood release, this raises the hood slightly without opening it completely. If the noise is gone, it is almost certainly the FSTB. If it doesn't go away, you will have to locate the source of the sound using the DBM vacuum hose method.
