need help with pathfinder engine

need help with pathfinder engine
sister has an 02. i figure since its the same engine you guys might be able to help. Everytime she starts it it makes a REALLY loud whining belt sound for about 10 secs and then it goes away. I think they tried spraying the belts with no luck. how can i fix this?
