Insurance question
Well, it's a new year and the car is getting older and older. It turns 11 this year. I love it but the price of the car keeps dropping.
I've been thinking of ways I can save more money and was checking out how much my car was worth on KBB.com and decided it's probably worth close to $4000.
When would you guys recommend dropping full coverage off the car and just have on liability? (this would be without any major modifications to it)

It really depends on you and what you are willing to risk. If your young and get soaked for insurance it might be worth looking at. Biggest question is what would you do if you totaled your car??? Are you in a position to write it off and replace it?? It's still worth the few hundred bucks a year it cost me to carry full coverage.

Yeah you guys do all have a point.
I'm 23, I pay around $1000 a year, and seeing as the car is still worth close to $4000 that's $4000 more that I'd get, in an accident if the car was totalled, if I didn't have full coverage. And too, in the next couple years my insurance price will drop even lower.

Depends on how much you'd save.
If its $100 a year no. if its $500 a year it might be woth it. Depends on your deductible also. If you have $1000 deductible then you'd only clear 3K max if you totalled the thing.
Don't know much about Nevada isnsurance but when you say full coverage is that comprehensive and collison. I don't think comprehensive coverage would be woth it.

I believe I have a $100 deductible on comprehensive and a $250 deductible on collision. And I just checked my policy and I actually pay $912 a year so it's not too much. About $76 a month. I'll probably just keep it so that if anything ever happens and I get into an accident and let's say the other person doesn't have insurance, I won't be screwed.
