IMO the accord has horrible steering. It felt almost exactly like the oldsmobile alero I drove once, extremely light and totally disconnected from the road. Even the article described the steering as "light" and IMO that = numb. I like my steering to be tight with plenty resistance and to react immediately when the steering wheel is turned...

It seems as though the Altima has already got it's major "makeover" for the time being to where the Maxima's has still yet to come. I'm sure that it will be worth the wait. Also lately it should be noted that all the american car companys have gotten back to their old school ways where it's all about the power again and bringing back the old names and such. I'm sure the imports are going to have to match this in the upcoming years to stay competitive when it comes to the sporty yet daily drivable crowd.

both of what don't have manuals yet? The altima and maxima? Well you're right about the maxima becuase it ONLY has the CVT and will not have a manual option. The altima, on the other hand, I've driven two 6-speeds already....

07 Altima definatly looks hotter than my 05 Maxima. I would love to stick with Maxima if they make it more sporty with some extra luxury items.

By coincidence today I went to a Nissan dealer today to p/u a part for my Maxima and looked at the new Maxima and Altima and thought that I would probably go for the new Altima since the altima is a lot cheaper than a Maxima no matter how you cut it and is a nice sized car. I do think it isn't as nice a looking car as the Maxima but that doesn't mean I think the new Maxima is a great looking car. I prefer my '96 over the newer ones for looks but the seats in the Altima or Maxima are a lot more comfortable than mine are.

I would say buy a Maxima 02 with 6-spd and hotshots, you have power and you bring your comfort with you
