Valet Issue

I wasn't sure to post this in the off topic or not, but i figure someone with a max (any gen) have ran into this problem before.

Basically i used a valet service one night, the next morning i discovered that there is a HUGE curb rash on one of my rims, I would have for sure noticed if i hit a curb THAT hard. My question is what can i do now?? I have the number for the valet service, but no luck, the guy made up that the spot related to my damage does not relate. I should have asked him what spots are near curbs first then tell him my real tag number, he could have just said that spot isn't near a curb....is it worth taking to small claims?? any help would me great. thanks!

go back and let them valet park the car again and then act like it just happened, they knew soon as you where gone they where in the clear so play the game

Yeah, right. They'll probably end up messing up another rim, which they will promptly deny. Unless you have something more solid than your conjectures, it's probably not even worth the filing fee for small claims. Probably just have to suck it up.

Down here it costs $45 to fix a rim. I'm not sure what it will run you out there in Cally, but it might be worth doing that instead of chasing them for it.

Good Luck

well i've seen the thread where you can do it yourself, but its on the lip of the rim, its more like alloy looking, not dual silver so i cant really paint it and stuff. i think im just going to report it to the BBB then call it a day.

The idea of someone else you don't know driving your car sucks...next time you have to go somewhere where there's a valet make some one else drive there. (ferris bueler's day off?)

When I worked valet, you had to present your claim on the spot. In fact, it was printed on the tag they give u when u hand them the keys. Our tag had a picture of the car, and the valet's supposed to do a walk-around and circle any existing problems. But the disclaimer said you had to tell them right away. You can try talking to them and maybe if they're nice they'll do something about it. Good luck.

It was very obvious who cared and who didn't when we worked. The ones who were car enthusiasts never did burnouts or abused the cars. The ones who didn't kno about cars, or took the job to pay the bills, they were the ones to stay away from. Too bad there's no way to tell till they drive your car off.

What you can also do (which also negates the purpose of valet) is say "I'll drive, you sit in the passenger seat, I'll still tip you". At least you'll get close parking and not hafta wait.

i work for a big valet company....our company does damage checks on camera we point out the damage and mark it on the ticket... so basically you should see if they do the same. im pretty sure they have their own claims dept. you should of taken it back as soon as you found out. the company has to prove that they didnt do it. its your word against theirs. at least thats how its is with us thats why we use video it will prove whether or not we did it.

Yeah, I work at a valet place and this kind of stuf happens all the time. Thats why I never let anyone valet my car, I pay extra and park it myself and take the keys.
I think the only thing u can do now it do a drive by, hahaha.

I used to work for a valet company. There is almost nothing you can do, unless you really bother the hell out of the manager. Most places won't claim responsibility after you leave. Usually says so on their tickets.

This is definetely the best idea. And afterwards, confront them in person and get all angry and stuff if they won't work with you. Confronting in person is always best. Good luck!
