Steering Wheel Question

Does anybody know if a 5th gen maxima steering wheel would fit on a 96 Maxima? Or how about a 97-99 Maxima steering wheel? I believe the diameters of the 97+ steering wheels are smaller than the 95-96 steering wheels right? Would I need any other modifications to make it fit? Anyone who knows please let me know. Thanks.
