Autozone will take up to 20 quarts per month, with no charge (at least in central ohio).

Be aware, that they will test the oil that you bring them to ensure that you are bringing them motor oil, and not gasoline, paint thinner, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc. Granted used motor oil will have traces of gasoline, antifreeze, dirt and metal, but these won't be the primary component of what you are disposing (unless you have a serious engine problem). So make sure that you are only taking used motor oil to be disposed, otherwise, they'll reject it.

By law (at least in Mass) if they sell oil (Parts store, oil change shops, etc..), they have to take is back up to a certain amount.

Around here Autozone and Pepboys are pretty helpful.

Check with your town, in some areas you can bring used motor oil to any mechanic. Sometimes they charge you a buck or two, sometimes it's free.
