Question about selling damaged wheels.
Question about selling damaged wheels.
Has anybody had a set of wheels that for some reason got damaged and been able to sell them? About a year ago, I was in a collision and one of my wheels was destroyed. Two of the wheels were scraped on the lip from when I hit the curb and the other was not damaged. The body shop that worked on my Max let me take the three wheels. I was hoping to have the scraped wheels repaired and get a brand new wheel to complete the set. However the manufacturer of the wheels no longer makes them and are probably out of business anyways. I should note that the wheels are Nakayama Phantom GTR wheels, (knockoffs of SSR GT1s). Anyways, anybody been in this kind of situation and been able to sell their damaged wheels? I was looking online months ago and found a company that buys damaged wheels but can't find it anymore. Lost the link. I am going to keep looking when I have free time, but thought I post here in hopes of gaining some kind of info. Any input from you guys is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and take care.
Thanks for the replies. In due time I will post a classified to see if anybody is interested. The problem I am most concered about is that I only have three wheels and I can't find a fourth. I'll find out for myself how it goes. Thanks again for the info. Take care.
you might want to just stick the good ones on Craigslist or ebay and see what happens. There might be someone else out there interested in buying them to replace a busted rim or have spares. Maybe even to use two as fronts or rears for the track (to mount slicks, DRs, etc).
Ive sold damaged rims before. Sold one set that was scratched up pretty bad, another set where one was bent. People will buy them, either to use because they dont care, or to fix and then either use or sell again.
